PROJECT MANAGER

Freelance, full-time or part-time

Location: London or remote

We are a London-based news and production company with a portfolio of projects that promote freedom of expression, human rights and social justice. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to manage and coordinate the effective delivery of our existing and new projects. 


You will be responsible for projects delivering to quality expectations, scope, budget and timeline, managing challenges and risks as they emerge. You will also help us apply our existing skill sets to new projects and bids to potential new funders, particularly those based in the European region. Your time is likely to be split equally between the project management and fundraising activities.

To ensure that project activities and results are in line with the funding agreements you will: 

Develop and manage work plans

Monitor project risks, and escalate issues in a timely manner when needed; where requests to change the funding agreement are required, you will ensure that approvals are sought and documented

Manage relationships with partners and the internal team

Ensure capacity is in place to delivery the project, undertake quality assurance processes and contracts against clear TORs/SoWs

Carry out effective due diligence, onboarding and contract management for project consultants

Ensure all travel follows the travel and security process

Collect, analyse, and report against project delivery on a regular basis, monitoring project progress towards project results as defined in the Scope of Work and the M&E Plan

Produce high quality and appropriate project reports as required

Support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools

To pursue new business opportunities you will:

Actively monitor opportunities across a number of portals and databases, particularly from European and international funders and maintain an up-to-date list of current opportunities

In coordination with a small fundraising team, prioritise opportunities, and help develop concept notes and proposals for submission to funders in response to opportunities that are a particular fit with our activities or intended development

Essential attributes:

Solid subject knowledge of advocacy, youth, media or community development. 

Demonstrable experience in project management, ideally in international development

Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, with diplomacy, sensitivity and decisiveness.

Excellent organisational skills

Problem-solver who anticipates barriers and creates practical solutions including proactive response to managing delivery risks

Aptitude for digital tools, excellent attention to detail 

Experience in fundraising and/or proposal development, particularly those based in Europe.

Desirable

Fluency in Persian

PROGRAMME ASSISTANT

Freelance, part time

Location: Remote or London, UK

We are a London-based news and production company with a portfolio of projects that promote freedom of expression, human rights and social justice. We are looking for an impact and data enthusiast to help us with our evaluation and learning activities. 

As part of a small, international team, you will: 

Take responsibility for gathering, managing and analysing data on project activities, output and audience across Off-Centre Productions / Journalism for Change projects

Maintain regular contact with teams implementing the projects to ensure relevant, robust data is gathered on time / to deadlines

Check quality of data and information gathered, to ensure it is robust and meets the project reporting requirements and methodology

Gather and report key success stories (e.g. project content carried by other key outlets, most significant change stories, audience feedback, etc.)

Prepare monthly reports as required

Assist in the preparation of quarterly quantitative reports against the M&E Plans per project

Assist in gathering information and drafting segments for narrative quarterly reports

Other tasks as may be required for project reporting

Essential attributes: 

Highly IT literate, especially well versed in Excel / Google Sheets

Ability to analyse data for lay audience

Attention to detail

Self-motivated

Desirable skills / experience:

Experience in social media and google analytics 

A degree in social / media research

Fluent in Persian
