Our campaigns raise public awareness of these issues and to help those inside Iran – using films, social media campaigns, street art and community outreach, support networks and many other tools.
Iranian Baha’is, the country’s largest religious minority, have been persecuted for decades by their government and aren’t allowed to teach or study at universities. The Education Is Not A Crime campaign was endorsed by a number of Nobel Peace Prize laureates – including Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Dr Shirin Ebadi – and celebrities such as actors Mark Ruffalo and Rainn Wilson.
Journalism Is Not A Crime focuses on Iran’s treatment of journalists. Hundreds of journalists have been jailed and tortured, and hundreds more have been forced into exile by the government. Newspapers and websites are regularly closed down. Journalism Is Not A Crime documents these atrocities and provide legal and psychological help to jailed journalists and their families.
